Baby Koala Blimp Launch
The Gold Coast community will get their first ‘glimpse of the blimp’ this Friday 16 April when ‘Burleigh’ the Baby Koala and ambassador for the Gold Coast Beach Parade takes to the skies on Burleigh Beach.
With exactly a month to go to set the benchmark for a world record attempt at having the most people in a Beach Parade wearing specially designed koala ear visors, “Burleigh” will become a familiar sight in the community and an inspiration for people to join in the parade.
The event is destined to shine a tourism spotlight on the Gold Coast showcasing its enviable coastal lifestyle, spectacular beaches and safe and healthy environment for travelers.
The Gold Coast Beach Parade will be the first ‘all of’ community event since COVID-19 with all entrant’s fees going to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation to help save our city’s koalas.
A donation of $25 per person for an individual entry, $80 donation for a family (up to 4) and $200 donation for a company/sporting club/school (up to 10) is made upon entry.
Measuring in at 5.3metres wide and 6.0 metres high and using 50 sq metres of fabric, Burleigh the Baby Koala will deliver some great vision and photo opportunities for media with a range of Gold Coast Beach Parade participants and organisers available for interviews on the day.
