Gold Coast Beach Parade
The Record
The record will be measured by the number of participants wearing a visor(with Koala ears) in a beach parade.
-
- The Gold Coast Beach Parade walk will happen on Burleigh beach opposite Justins Park, just north of the Mowbray Park SLSC. Participants will walk down the beach in single file to North Burleigh SLSC turning at the check point, and return down along the beach front to Burleigh again, and be counted as you enter the main stage area. The parade route is 3 km.
- A start signal will be used. All participants must pass through designated check points along the route.
- There is a main stage on the beach, with a suspended counter over the catwalk. All participants finish the parade by walking down the catwalk, with the counter ticking over the numbers.
- what to wear ….Whatever you feel comfortable in wearing and walking to save our koalas. Wearing our koala ear visor(supplied with each entry) is necessary.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation
The Gold Coast Beach Parade supports Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. Fundraising efforts by individuals, family and teams benefit the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.
Our event supports Currumbin Wildlife Hospital’s vital work treating, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife.
The Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, admitting 14000 animals a year – a service that is provided free of charge to the community.
The skilled and experienced veterinary team, supported by volunteers, prides itself in providing the highest level of veterinary care to all of their patients.
As a charity, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital relies on donations and public support to continue this free service to the community…which is why community fundraising events and initiatives like the Gold Coast Beach Parade are so important to us.
